It’s really ridiculous that I haven’t updated in over a month two months. I have an excuse, I’ve been busy! Busy is good! Doubling up on gigs, working on a couple of new mixes, moving into a new place, and of course still rockin’ with the 9-5 have left me quite fatigued and without the motivation I need to update constantly. But now I’m refreshed and I have updates a plenty, so for those that check for me here’s a quick rundown of some of the special events I’ve taken part in since my last update (after the jump):
Oh, before I get into the recap I wanna send a big thanks out to Cecilia who I met at a recent gig in Chapel Hill. She said she reads my blog and likes the R Les Tape. Thanks Cecilia, you made my night!
Rocked Octopus Lounge and Dazzling in Toronto with my homies Mensa, and Grand Groove (Jacks and Royale) :
Three days after getting back from Toronto, I heded up to Expo Lounge in DC with my home Nickthe1da for a No Limit Vs. Cash Money party (sidenote: that place has really cool purple lighting inside):
Rocked a couple of events for Red Bull with Paradime. One was for the Red Bull FMX team on the opening day for the Carolina Hurricanes. This one was insane, we had guys flying overhead on motocross bikes the whole time we were DJing.
The other Red Bull event was with Terry Adams for Raleigh Wide Open (almost lost my head life when the stage came crashing down!) Here I am bobbing for Red Bull:
Also whipped down to play that good hip-hop stuff at Kam’s album release party at Dharma Lounge in Charlotte [alongside DJ DR, one of the illest producers I know!]
Rocked for a CRAZY homecoming / halloween weekend at Noma and Speakeasy. One of the few occassions that all four members of the crew were in the same place at the same time. Also shout to my homegirl Michelle from Toronto for coming down that weekend:
Then the next weekend hopped on another plane and headed out to Colorado with Kam and J-Live to play Colorado Springs and Denver, then burned down an after party at Shag in Denver with Low Key at his weekly “so damn down”
Also did a party of my own in collaboration with Champa Sushi called Champa Lifestyle which was a great success. Thanks to everyone that came out that day, we had a blast [facebook album]!
Plus held down the cradle on a couple of occasions to open for Ghostface, and most recently CNN + Raekwon. Dope as always.
Needless to say, I saw a lot of this over the past couple of months, and to be honest, that’s alright with me
