Haven’t done this post in YEARS. My friday fives used to be the jam. I always lost my site towards the end of the month thanks to all the bandwidth being used up for friday five downloads. Anyway, I’m starting it up again, and after this I might make it newsletter exclusive, so jump on board while you’re here!
You know the drill, five of my favorite songs for the week, in no particular order. Let’s get started, shall we?
- AZ – I’m Ill (prod. MoSS) – PHEW, this is a certified banger from AZ’s upcoming album Doe Or Die 2. Commit crime to this.
- Red Cafe – I’m Ill (ft. Fabolous) – BUT FORGE, THE LAST SONG WAS ALSO CALLED I’M ILL! Yeah I know, just do what you came to do and download it! It’s guaranteed that sampling Jay-Z will lead to a crazy track. RRRAAH!
- Jay Electronica – Exhibit C (prod. Just Blaze) – This song broke the internet a month ago when Just Blazed played it on Toca Tuesdays and the rip made it’s way around the blogs. The fully mastered version is finally available for purchase. BUY IT (this one is an iTunes link)
- Emilio Rojas – Runway – This is from Emilio’s “The Natural” mixtape that he just released with DJ Green Lantern. I’ve been rocking with Emilio since before he changed his name twice lol. - J. Cole – Unabomber – NC’s very own is rocking with mr. s dot carter right now. I haven’t heard a weak joint from this guy, and I appreciate he still represents his home city of Fayetteville. Get down with the movement! (I used this sample before, don’t you hate when that happens!)
