If you don’t watch It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, you’re totally missing out. This show is genius. Here’s a promo video they’re running right now, with Jeru remaking “Going Back to Cali” as “Going Back to Philly”
And now a random clip from the show, I present to you, “Dayman.” (via Hulu, which is an awesome site where you can watch episodes of this show and many more!)
(I was going to continue this entry with some music vids of my favorite Philadelphia based artists, but UMG has a lot of those videos blocked from embedding on youtube)
It seems like everyone around me is getting iphones. Initially I was skeptical about the device, swearing my undyling love to RIM and my blackberry and nothing could sway me. I was turned off by the unresponsive onscreen keyboard, mainly because I could never seem to type a complete sentence on one without constantly correcting my entries. One year, one hardware change, and several firmware revisions have changed my mind about them entirely (especially since the release of the 3G model). I was actually ready to make the plunge, but AT&T is being a pain about my contract (they offer me a one year contract on my last upgrade, then end up extending my contract for two years, THANKS!). Long story short, I can’t do anything about purchasing an iphone until at least april (unless I want to pay the standard price, or buy on eBay, and I shudder at both of those prospects).
So you must be thinking, “Forge what is the point of this post?!?” Well I’m glad you asked! Since I can’t buy an iphone, I’m gonna try to win one. And you can help!
This is actually a pretty interesting story: a guy named Avon Blake has recently started a blog, and to generate traffic he’s giving away a free iphone. Potential winners need only to link back to his blog. Here are the instructions. Not a bad idea for an aspiring journalism student.
So yeah, click the link and help me (and him) out.
I think I’m gonna end up getting a new ipod nano. For the gym/bike. Somebody buy me one, I’ll trade you some beats!
yeah, ok. Who’s running your music in the clubs? Cause it sure ain’t gettin that top 40 play. “Umma Do Me” and it’s marginal success? Thanks to the DJ!
Really random, but I’m starting to really really dig house music (of various formats). This is one of my favorite jams right now. It’s on some UK 2-Step steez. Definitely going into the workout mix I’m working on.
I wanted to blog about the Glow In The Dark tour, but I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t had the time. It’s probably the most well put together show I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen A LOT of shows. Everyone I talk to feels the same. Even Puff (yeah, I’m still gonna call him that.)
If it comes to your city, do yourself a favor and make the trip to see it…
You dudes can’t match my work ethic man….
My heart’s poundin’ out my chest
I can’t breathe, My Mind’s Racin’
So I’m leapin out the bed
I hit the floor and start pacin’
I Walk downstairs
I take a glimpse in the mirror
My contacts so I can see a bit clearer
Reflection ain’t the same
It still appears a bit blurry
Losin focus
Grab some water
Feelin like I gotta Hurry
Say I rap about work and
Always workin’ on rappin’ But Failure Ain’t an Option
Gonna Make this thing happen
I’m laughin at myself for being up at four thirty
Always push it to the limits cause success is so flirty
Forge & Amen - 101
Three years later, this song still rings true. I wish I was still crankin’ out beats like I was then, and I wish we were still turning out joints like this on the regular. Life goes on I suppose. That said, A has started his own blog revolving around his aspirations to write screenplays. New outlets and avenues are never a bad thing. Hit him up…
