Just finished remixing Ghostface’s single “Back Like That” which features Ne-Yo on the hook (posted previously on the site). Check it out and let me know what you think…
Rest In Peace to one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time. I’ll write more on this in the near future. At first I thought it was a rumor, but it appears to be true. He will be missed, and this is a sad day for the hip=hop community….
if you buy music on itunes, or own an ipod at all, then you might be interested in this…you can win 10 ipods and $10,000 worth of music…it’s worth a shot once the counter gets close to the billion mark:
So I’m sure by now you’ve heard Kanye West’s album, Late Registration. I think I can safely say that “Touch The Sky” is my favorite track on the disc (which is funny because kanye didn’t produce it, but Just Blaze did instead). Anyway, the point of this entry isn’t really to say how much I like that track, but to show you this video, which is a trailer for the music video of Touch The Sky. Yeah, a trailer for a rap video, crazy right? I like the way it looks already, with the 70s feel, serves the track well. Which reminds me, before you watch the video, go ahead and download the original sample for the track: Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up. I think the reason I like the kanye track so much is because of how much I like this original track. For those that don’t know Curtis Mayfield was a very influential soul singer, his most prominent time was the late 60s/early 70s. This particular track is from 1970 I believe. Anyway, just do some research on him, you’ll find a lot of good music waiting to be heard. Ok, back to the point of this entry, the trailer…check it out (you’re gonna need quicktime, sorry):
